Nine

 

 

what if we became plants

 

          these roots above the litter

 

                    this soft darkness, this soft rain

 

 

foliage, the advancing parade

 

of experience, the productio poetica,

 

          subjectless &

 

our limbs are driftwood, our hair is kelp,

 

                                      goldilocks,

 


with a hunger

 

to feast on dirt &

 

          moths in your mouth

 

          fossilized branches hidden under

 


they, they

 

from their angel-eyed view

 

          in some places

 

          a swallowed sky, bordered

 

communing, as a verb, is what all life does
